Marie Reid-Beadle

Self-taught, I took the opportunity to pursue a career as an artist in 2004. I am now a full-time artist based in Owaka. Living the dream in a beautiful part of the world. My medium of choice is Acrylics. I have a rather bizarre passion – cows - which reflects in my works, and also love native birds. I have combined the two. This series has turned into a bit of a signature image for me. I have also started a new series – Balancing Acts. Inspired by Riverton beach stones – I began painting cairns structures with birds balancing on top. Often I am also inspired to paint birds that I have seen locally or on my travels. I also like to base my works on quips and quotes.
