Cake & Create Christmas Printmaking

Christmas trees ? Snow flakes ? Decorations or even a deer ? Unleash your creative side! We’re going to design, carve and print “stamps” in a soft lino, (It’s really easy to carve) and print our deigns onto paper for wrapping presents and cards for Christmas giving. (You could also do other design for birthdays etc. if you prefer).

Introduction to Oil Painting

This class is designed for people who would like to begin to us oil paints. It’s the first in a series of 3 classes which will introduce you to the materials, how to make a start and the first layer. As oil paint takes time to dry, there will be two other classes to follow that will take you further into the techniques and ways in which you can work when you’re ready to explore on your own. This is an oils class where it okay to be a complete beginner, or you have some experience and want to learn more.

Cake & Create - Gelli Plate Printmaking

Gelli plate printmaking offers all sorts of possibilities ! Literally a plate with a jelly-like feel, this printmaking acrylic paints rather than traditional printmaking inks. We’ll explore just a few of the ways in which you can use this unique medium to create monoprints, layered prints and all sorts of happy accidents.

Art After School Term 4

This term we’re going to be busy trying new things at Art After School. Children can come to one class or all of them - whatever suits.

Week 1: 9th Oct Lego Printing:

Week 2: 16th OCT Texture Art: using fabric, felt, lace, sacking etc to make a landscape, seascape or trees. Week 3: 23rd Oct Finish our texture picture.

Week 4: 30th Oct . Exploring complimentary colours: create two paintings using complimentary colours. Red and green, blue and orange or yellow and purple.

Week 5: 6th Nov Continue to work on and complete the week 4 work

Week 6: 13th Nov Dots/pointillism: create pictures using painted dot cotton buds.

Week 7: 20th Nov Doodles: creating doodle pictures, Zen tangle style. S

Week 8: 27th Nov & 4th Dec Stamps: make our own stamps for printing from soft lino.

Collagraph Printmaking School Holiday Class

We’re going to dive into printmaking again but this time making a printing “plate” from cardboard and other materials for texture. This could be a real picture or just abstract shapes and lines. Children will need to confident with scissors.

Cake & Create - Printmaking .

A collagraph is a printing “plate” made from cardboard and other materials. It can feature shapes, lines, texture and be realist or abstract or whatever you choose! Your plate can be used to print on paper as a one off, to create wrapping paper or even cards. (Christmas ideas anyone?)

Cost is $25. All materials will be supplied. (I have cards and paper that could be used for wrpapping or bring your own if you prefer)

Art After School

From drawing skills to exploring paint, we’re going to be having some fun and learning skills you can use in all sorts of ways at the same time. Please make sure you’ve had a snack (or bring you afternoon tea with you.

Cost is $10 a session or you can pay for the whole term at $75. All materials will be supplied.

Aprons are supplied to cover up but if you have a chance to change to old clothes, please do.
